Last Surgery...

Mike completed, what we hope to be, his last surgery. Skin was taken from his thigh on his right leg and moved do to cover his burns in his heel. The doctors said everything looks good and it should be about a week to 10 days for the skin to take and to heal. He was up having lunch when I got the news so it sounds like he is doing pretty good.

PS. His voice is sounding a lot better as well!

Hi Mike & Family.
Just want to say we're glad to hear your surgery went well Mike. But also - that you guys are awesome, the way you've pulled together as a family.
I think we've been praying for you pretty well everyday. Our hearts go out to you. Isn't God so awesome though, the way He watches over us at times like this?
Would like to leave Psalm 91: 1 & 2 with you: "He that dwells in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in Him will I trust."

A big thank-you to Micheal's grandparents for inviting me to post my blog. I am honored to be able to send my best wishes and offer my assistance to Micheal and his family. The Canadian Paraplegic Assoc.(Alberta)is here to answer any questions or lend a hand. :) Take Care.

Hi MIke, sorry its been a while since my last comment. I'm still thinking about you. My class is quietly writing a test right now, so I thought I'd take the time to drop you a note. It sounds like all of the physio will be tough work, but it doesn't surprise me that you're putting everything you have into it. By the end, you should have arms that'll make the women drool :o)
Keep up the hard work, it'll pay off (just like school). I'm hopeful that things will go more smoothly for you now that surgery is done and that the pain will begin to subside.
Keep smiling!

Hey Mikey: Have been thinking about you often. It was so great to see you last week even if you were buzzed and said "I LOVE YOU" while under the influence... I"ll take it anyway I can. No more surgeries, you know they say... anaesthetic causes hair loss and while you know I am partial to bald men (I was forced to say that), I'd hate for you to lose your tall, dark and handsome status.

Seriously though I am praying for you and thinking of you often. Song for today... and while you work so hard on physio...(It's an oldie, definitely not your generation so you may have to have mom sing it to you - hi Brenda)

DAY BY DAY AND WITH EACH PASSING MOMENT
STRENGTH I FIND TO MEET MY TRIALS HERE
TRUSTING IN MY FATHER'S WISE BESTOWMENT
I'VE NO CAUSE FOR WORRY OR FOR FEAR
HE WHO'S HEART IS KIND BEYOND ALL MEASURE
GIVES UNTO EACH DAY WHAT HE DEEMS BEST
LOVINGLY IT'S PART OF PAIN AND PLEASURE
MINGLING TOIL WITH PEACE AND REST.

EVERY DAY THE LORD HIMSELF IS NEAR (YOU) WITH A SPECIAL MERCY FOR EACH HOUR
ALL (YOUR) CARES HE FAIN WOULD BEAR AND CHEER (YOU) HE WHOSE NAME IS COUNSELOR AND POWER
THE PROTECTION OF HIS CHID AND TREASURE (that's you Mike)
IS A CHARGE THAT ON HIMSELF HE LAID
"AS THY DAYS, THY STRENGTH SHALL BE IN MEASURE" THIS THE PLEDGE TO YOU (Michael and family) HE MADE.

He has promised to be with you each step of this journey.

God Bless You during this hard and often frustrating struggle. I love you all!! SHERYL

Hey mike,

Glad to hear you had a successfull surgery!! Don't be discouraged when you question God, I don't think we will ever know all the answers. God knew what He was doing when He brought you to this experience. God's speed for recovery, Britney

Mike,

I just finished bribing my Math 20's with old halloween candy. It reminds me of the days when you would win the "moldy green candy". Come to think of it that was the only way I could keep you awake back in grade 10.(don't worry, I won't tell your mom you used to nap in class) My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Hi Mike, Brenda, Neil, and family, So good to read all the comments each day (or sometimes a few times a day). I have extra time on my hands these days so often go to your site. Today the sun is shining here and hopefully for you too. I continue to come before our awesome creator and healer and request, through His best will, that He will give you miraculous healing - the kind that baffles our medical system and encourages us all to boldly walk with Him. It good to know that so many people are part of God's humungous family and they ALL love you and pray for you through all your times - good and bad - each day. Sending hugs your way. Brenda and Neil, keep up being the best parents there could be with your encouragments and laughter and understanding. Man, what an experience you are encountering - God must have great plans for you to minister to His world. We love you guys so much.
Love, prayers, and blessings to you all, Dorothy and Geoff

Don't be discouraged when the going gets tough. Remember to get the tough moving out. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade (yum).

Hey Mike,
Hope you're ready for another visit from me. Or maybe you might decide to tell the nurse to kick me out when I come. Regardless, I hope you're better now that you've seen Max. I heard he's super bald now and constantly cold.
Love, Ashleigh

Psalm 142:7a --"Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise Thy name..."

Michael's soul is not in prison, Lord, but I pray that You would bring him through this valley and make him strong through it, and that he would be able to praise You and give You glory in the end result, whatever it is. That You would be seen in this, and that people would be drawn to You.

Thank-You that his surgery went well. Have Your hand on his burns, and help him heal quickly please, without infection or other complications.

Thank-You that his voice is returning!

~Psalm 6:9~

So good to hear that you are able to start doing some physio. I'm sure that even though it hurts and gets frustrating, you have some control back in your life. I'm hoping and praying for your healing to go well. I'm sure you will be able to teach me things about your care. I believe that you have a fighting spirit and will do well. You and your family remain in our prayers. Remember - Jesus loves you and so do we. Take care Shelly
