I think I will just sit here and cry.

And now, the spot on this site that was supposed to be devoted to you so that we could all say "Oh look how wonderful Mike is" has been usurped by your dog. Doesn't that hurt your vanity just a little bit?

I only met Max once when you smuggled him into school in your backpack like Paris Hilton and he bit me. but he still seemed like a sweet little dog. He was definitely one of a kind. In 4-H when we went to visit the vet clinic, they showed us some x-rays that were supposed to be anonymous, but how many three-legged pomeranians are there in Lac La Biche? so I'm sad for you.

ciao,
Devin

(and what is with all these people calling him a PUPPY? he was a full-grown dog for crying out loud! they are just prejudiced against small dogs.)

(okay maybe it was just sherraz's comment. It was a good story.

I was praying for you and your family - that He would comfort you through this grief. And I started thinking back to the first dog that we had. I was nearly in tears and he passed over 10 years ago. It's hard when a 'pet' has become a family memeber; but when you look back on all the memories you have, you can be sure that caring for that animal as a family member instead of 'just a pet' was worthwhile.

"Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love."
- Lamentations 3:32

I continue to pray for you and your family each day.

God Bless,
Andrea EvansAndreaJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07993581126119433290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28367644.post-1154097032482519112006-07-28T08:30:00.000-06:002006-07-28T08:30:00.000-06:00Hi Mike,So sorry to hear about Max. I ...Hey Mike and Family,

So sorry to hear about Max. I know when I've lost animals it totally devastates me for a couple days. A few weeks back our Great Pyrenees was hit by a truck on the highway and we had to have both his tail and one back leg amputated. It was pretty hard to deal with but by far the best option we had. Anyways, I know Neil is supposed to be in Calgary for a meeting today and I told Andrea if she sees him to let you guys know that you can borrow our three legged dog for a couple days if you want. We’ve been trying to do some therapy for him helping him get to know his ‘new body’ and every time we do I think of Mike and how he’s learning all these sorts of things too. I was completely amazed by how resilient our dog was (he was walking the same day as his surgery) and it gave me true hope for your situation as I’m sure you are even more resilient.

Have a wonderful day Barker family and know we still pray for you daily.

Lisa in CrossfieldLisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08947812710941841086noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28367644.post-1153964333511149642006-07-26T19:38:00.000-06:002006-07-26T19:38:00.000-06:00Mike and familyAgain i am sorry that i have not be...Mike and family

Again i am sorry that i have not been writing as much and i am very sorry about max he was a wonderfull puppie and he will be greatly missed. i am glad to hear that you mike are getting much better and that you are moving about more. you look great and i am sure you will be better in no time at all. i will try and come and see you as soon as i can. take care buddy

sherrazAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28367644.post-1153942764148068332006-07-26T13:39:00.000-06:002006-07-26T13:39:00.000-06:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28367644.post-1153934025166161892006-07-26T11:13:00.000-06:002006-07-26T11:13:00.000-06:00Awww Mike I am sorry that Max died. He was just like you - an inspiration, I swear I could feel him running around the yard celebrating his freed spirit and maybe this way he can be right by your side all the time. My girls Kia and Jazi will miss going for a walk every day with him and Cindy. Keep the updates coming, many people are with you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
