3rd Degree Burns
Just a quick note. Mike is doing well with his work outs. The nights are still pretty painful though. His skin grafting (for the 3rd degree burn on his heel) is scheduled for monday, so keep him in your prayers. Once the skin grafts are healed he will be on the waiting list for Glen Rose Hospital to start his rehab.

Mike and family,
It was good to visit with you on Tuesday. We are continuing to pray for you. I'm sure at times it seems like such a dark hole that you are looking into when you think of all the things you have to relearn. But we know with confidence that God loves you and will be with you. We certainly see from all the people that log onto this that you have many many people that are and will surround you with love and prayer.

Hey Mike,
I sent off Lori this morning. She is on her way to see you. She was really cramping our style here...(Becki and I were having to share a bathroom with her) so we thought we would let her bug you for a while (wink).

Hi Mike,
Sorry to hear that you need the skin grafts, but it sounds like the doctors are doing their best to get you well enough for rehab. Will pray that the skin grafts do what their supposed to do and that healing is quick and complete. I also pray that when you are ready for rehab there will be a spot for you right away. God bless.
My favorite verse, and so true...
(We) can do all things through Christ who strengthens (us).
(Phil 4:13)
I know our church is praying for you and your family ... Keep looking to God for that comfort and strength and you can conquer anything!
God bless!

Hi Mike & family,
You guys are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. I'm glad to hear Lori is able to come and visit with you. Hang in there, there's lots of love surrounding you all. I still know there is a "huge(r)" picture He's got in store for you Mike, and many that surround you and are touched by you, and because it's up to Him, we know it's going to be an awesome one. God Bless you each and every day.

M dawg,
Thinking of you and wishing you a view of fit, female construction workers (I know you'll get that one).

Father God, thank-You that Michael has the determination to work hard at his therapy. Thank-You for giving him the physical strength to do this. Please continue to grand him the emotional and mental strength to continue.
I pray that his voice would come back fully soon. Just from having colds I know how frustrating it is not to be able to talk well. Thank-You that his hearing has returned! It must have been a huge relief to be able to hear properly again!
His burns give him a lot of pain at night, Lord. Please let him know that You are with him during the times of pain and awakeness in the night. Nights seem to take forever to go by when pain is a factor. May he feel Your presence, and know that You are walking through this with him and he is not alone. I pray that You would time the healing of his burns with an open spot in the Glen Rose hospital, so he will be able to make much progress as quickly as possible.
~Psalm 6:9~
"When you cry be sure to dry your eyes,
cause better days are sure to come.
And when you smile be sure to smile wide,
and don't let them know that they have won.
And when you laugh be sure to laugh out loud,
'Cause it will carry all your cares away.
And when you see, see the beauty all around and in yourself,
and it will help you feel okay.
And when you pray, pray for strength,
to help you carry on when the troubles come your way.
And when you dream DREAM BIG."
Good luck with your skin grafting surgery Mike. Youll do amazing

ps- Steve, if your reading this: Is there any way to send Mike the CD of the service today (Pastor Brian's message about pain?? Thought everything he said was good and would be cool to send to your family.)
Mike,
Keep on with your positive thinking. God created you and He can do anything! I put you on our prayer chain here at Bethel Baptist, in Duncan, B.C. We have some awesome prayer warriors and they are praying for you and specifically for your healing. I pray that you will come thru the skin grafting easily.

Hey Mike,
Earlier today I heard what had happened to you and when I heard the news I was floored. But I know what a stong person you are and that with God by your side you will grow even stronger.
I know we never got to be good friends when I lived in Lac La Biche, but I do remember having some good times in Beaver Lake Estates when I lived there. I will be praying for you every chance I get.
You are an amazing human being and I am thinking of you,
Shannon Fontaine (Calgary)

Hi Mike,
It is after midnight your time, and it is the day of your skin graft work. I wonder how you are doing? All is quiet here, finally the streets become silent (mostly) and there is space. If you wake in the night, I wonder what you hear, and what you think about? About 8 years ago, my friend had a baby who died within a 1/2 hour of being born. She told me the story of how she prayed that God would be present to her in her distress and in her pain. But she could not see God. So in the middle of the night, she confronted God with this question,... Why, God, were you not here? I just asked you to come to me and to be present. Where were you? And God answered her, "but I was - for every person who sat in that chair beside your bed were the hands and feet of Christ. I have sat here in everyone who has sat here with you. This is how you can see me. And I am here now." She told me that this knowing transformed her grief and her pain. She still went through pain and grief, but she began to recognize God in many shapes, became aware that God was present to her so close that she could receive him, rest in him and be touched by him deeply in ways that she had not known before. This brought her relief, and it held her for the long journey.
It is night. I pray that you see God in the night and that it becomes hope to you. I pray that with the coming day, you will see the light of love, of wholeness. We are lifting you to the arms of Christ and placing God's hands of healing onto your burns and wherever the surgery will touch. We are praying for the doctors who are doing the surgery and we are praying for all who wait with you there.
We wait here with you, We love you,
Mary and family, Vancouver
Hi! Mr. Franchuk was in to see you on Saturday but you were asleep. He didn't want to wake you. Hopefully I will be able to get in this Thursday evening. We are thinking of you with happy thoughts. Take care and have a great week. Terry Hannan
