Up and About

Mike and I “walked” to the mall this weekend for some retail therapy. Being careful not to let his shopping skills slip while going through rehab, Mike tried on a few items and settled on a hoodie for his purchase. Clearly no decline in his shopping expertise!

It was great to see Mike feeling better. He spent most of Sunday afternoon and evening in his chair without feeling nauseous. Up to now, Mike has spent most of his free time in his room, usually in bed but yesterday Mike spent time visiting with other patients and their families in the atrium. It’s so encouraging to see him “up and about”. This could be attributed to the increased medication or that his body is finally starting to adjust or even that he has a chance to sleep in on the weekends. But I think it’s quite possible that getting a hair cut made all the difference.

Mike

Wow. It is soo good to hear that you are out and about. You really help me. When I hear how you are doing it helps me to remember that even though things seem really bad in life there is always somways that we can look at it and see the good in all the crappyness. That of course is thanks to God and God alone.
I was kinda scare when I read that you got your hair cut but after looking at the picture ... wow you look good. It suits you. Keep truckin' along Mike and always look for the good in the crappy times.

God Bless,

Hey Mike!

You look great! Hopefully, your medication will continue to ease your nausea and you'll be able to get some meat back on those strong bones. But hey, the muscles look like they are coming along marvelously. LOL.

It's so great to be able to check the blog each day and read new tidbits from your life. So inspiring Mike!

I hope as you are 'recovering' you will remember to embrace and enjoy the great moments that I'm sure you're experiencing. Each time you learn a new skill, each time you last the day without getting sick, each time you're able to get out and enjoy some 'retail therapy'. You probably don't need to be reminded that these things are all blessings from Your Heavenly Father.

I continue to pray for His healing hand in your life. You are an amazing young man, Mike! Thanks for inspiring so many of us.

God Bless,
Andrea
